Our Familia

Our Abuela (Grandmother) came to Pittsburgh over 20 years ago to help her brother open the South Side's first authentic Mexican restauant. Our grandmother is now back in Mexico.

Truth be told the true family chef and the keeper of our secret recipes is our Abuelo (Grandfather) Abel Diaz. He cooked a special dish called birria.  Made with lamb cooked in a spicy sauce and served with minced onions, limes and tortillas.

During Christmas, we traditionally make special sweet tamales that always bring holiday joy. We will be featuring these foods on special occasions.

Our Journey

Taquitos has continued to grow from one food truck to a successful catering food wagon. Today, we have a thriving brick and mortar location inside of the Evergreen Cafe.

At its core, Pittsburgh is a city built on a tradition of hard work, faith, and family. Values which we hold dear. We’re proud to call this city our home, proud of the food we cook and proud of keeping our authentic Mexican food traditions alive.

It is our hope that you will enjoy our food and try something new. We are happy to share.
